AI Voice Policy
Last updated: 13 June 2026
My voice is my craft and my livelihood. This policy sets out, clearly and unambiguously, how my voice and recordings may not be used.
No consent for AI training or voice cloning
I, Mat Brummitt, trading as Vocalsmith, do not grant permission for any of my voice recordings, demos, delivered work, or any other audio of my voice to be used, in whole or in part, to:
- train, fine-tune, or develop any artificial intelligence, machine-learning, or text-to-speech model;
- create a synthetic, cloned, or "digital" version of my voice;
- generate new speech in my voice, or a voice imitating mine, by any automated means;
- be scraped, harvested, or ingested into any dataset for the above purposes.
This applies to all of my work
This restriction applies regardless of where my audio appears — on this website, on audiobook retail platforms, in delivered project files, or anywhere else — and it applies whether or not a separate contract is in place. Where a project contract exists, that contract’s terms also apply, but nothing in it should be read as granting AI training or voice-cloning rights unless it says so in explicit, written, separately-negotiated terms.
Reservation of rights
All rights are expressly reserved. The presence of my recordings in a publicly accessible place does not imply a licence to use them for AI purposes. I reserve the right to pursue all available remedies in respect of any unauthorised use.
Questions or licensing
If you genuinely wish to discuss legitimate, consented, and compensated use of my voice, please get in touch via my contact form — I’m happy to talk. Unsolicited or automated use is not permitted.
This statement reflects my clear and ongoing position. It is provided for information and is not itself legal advice.
